Award presented at annual Wisconsin Aviation Conference
For Immediate Release May 9, 2012
(Green Bay, WI) Jet Air Group is the recipient of the 2012 Wisconsin Aviation Business of the Year award from the Wisconsin Aviation Trades Association (WATA). The award recognizes excellence in the aviation trades. CEO Al Timmerman was presented the award during the 57th annual Wisconsin Aviation Conference.
"We are very grateful and honored to receive this award," Timmerman stated. "This is a wonderful recognition of all of the hard work our staff does each and every day to develop and maintain a top notch facility, offer quality services and do our part to promote the aviation industry. It means a great deal to have our work recognized by our colleagues across Wisconsin."
Jet Air has seen successful growth and development over the past few years, including the completion of its 29,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in 2010. In addition, Jet Air has grown from 29 of employees to more than 40 and has added new aircraft to its fleet.
Jet Air has also demonstrated a commitment to furthering the aviation industry by partnering with Lakeland College and its four-year aviation program. Jet Air recently added an FAA-certified flight simulator, testing center and helicopter training to its flight school, making Jet Air the only full service training facility in the Green Bay area. "Aircraft and helicopter pilots are really in demand right now," Timmerman stated. "Being able to offer flight training as part of what we do helps to grow our business while preparing the next generation of pilots."
Partnerships have been another important element to Jet Air's success. "Our partnerships with community groups and businesses have helped us grow," Timmerman said. "Whether it's being the Green Bay Packers preferred FBO, the oldest Mitsubishi service center in the U.S. or a certified Cirrus flight training center, we strive to be the best we can be. We know we are a part of a larger community, which is why we hold a number of fundraising events for non-profit groups in our facility each year. We understand the importance of giving back to the community that has supported us."
Overall, Timmerman attributes the success of Jet Air to its people. "You can have the best equipment, location and facility but it doesn't mean anything if you don't have dedicated and committed people to help you meet your goals," Timmerman said. "I'm very proud of our staff."
The WATA is the professional organization for pilots and FBOs in Wisconsin and serves as the communication clearinghouse between FBOs and the State of Wisconsin, the Federal Aviation Administration, and other groups and organizations.

For Immediate Release March 20, 2012
(Green Bay, WI) Jet Air Group has announced the promotion of Al Timmerman to Chief Executive Officer. Timmerman was serving as the company's Chief Operating Officer and will be taking over as CEO from Dr. Bruce Bressler, who is retiring after 10 years with the company.
"I'm very pleased to take on this new area of responsibility," Timmerman stated. "Bruce and I along with the entire Jet Air team have worked hard over the last several years to create a service that fills a niche for charter flights and a flight training program."
Timmerman's new role will include developing and implementing the long term goals of Jet Air. "Educating the community on the advantages of having an international airport in the Green Bay area will be a large focus area," Timmerman said. "The transportation infrastructure is what allows a community to develop and prosper and aviation will be an important part to the future of this community's continued growth."
Under Timmerman's direction, Jet Air completed construction of 29,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in 2010 and added new aircraft to its fleet. In addition, Jet Air partnered with Lakeland College on a four-year aviation program and recently added an FAA-certified flight simulator and helicopter training to its flight school. "Helicopter pilots are really in demand right now," Timmerman stated. "Being able to offer helicopter training as part of our flight school is meeting a demand while growing our business."
Timmerman is also looking forward to continuing Jet Air's partnerships with other community businesses like the Green Bay Packers and PMI. "Community partnerships are a key element to our success," Timmerman commented. "I see tremendous value in working with strong partners to promote businesses throughout Wisconsin and across the country."
Bressler will stay on as the Chairman of the board of directors and will oversee the FAA medical examinations that pilots need in order to earn their license. Other staffing changes include Joe Megna Sr. becomes General Manager of the maintenance division and Joe Saunders is the new Director of Operations for Jet Air's flight department.
